Empowering Women and Girls: Improving realization of human

Location: Blantyre and Neno Districts

Project Goal

To improve realization of human rights and a life of dignity for women and girls, including those with disabilities, from disadvantaged communities in Malawi.

Objectives

  • Assert equality and address dominant social norms that perpetuate gender inequality and GBV
  • Increase equitable access to secondary education for girls
  • Promote sustainable livelihoods with climate-resilient practices

Key Activities & Achievements

  • Trained 555 rights holders in gender equality and human rights
  • Conducted awareness campaigns reaching 366,460 individuals
  • Created 31 Community Gender Equality Committees
  • Paid tuition fees for 123 students and supported reintegration
